Vista - HughesNet Email Setup

Configuration for HughesNet email for Windows Mail (Vista):

1. Click Start > E-mail (Windows Mail).
   
   Note: If Windows Mail does not appear, click Start > All Programs > Windows Mail.
   
2. Enter the name to be displayed in the Display name field.
   This is the name which will appear in the From field of outgoing messages. Generally, you will enter your first and last name in this field or a nickname. In the example, "Hughesnet Test" would appear in the From field of outgoing messages.
3. Click Next.
4. Enter your HughesNet email address in the E-mail address field and click Next.
   
5. Enter the following in the Set up e-mail servers window:
   
   1. Incoming e-mail server type: Select POP3.
   2. Incoming e-mail (POP3) server: Type mail.hughes.net.
   3. Outgoing e-mail server (SMTP) name: Type smtp.hughes.net.
   4. Check the box next to Outgoing mail server requires authentication.
6. Click Next.
7. Enter the following in the Internet Mail Logon window:
   
   1. E-mail username field: Enter your complete HughesNet email address.
   2. Password: Enter your password for HughesNet email.
   3. Check the box next to Remember password if desired. This will allow you to login without entering your password each time you check your mail on this PC.
8. Click Next.
9. Check the box next to Do not download my e-mail at this time.
   
10. Click Finish.

To delete an email account:

1. Click Start > E-mail (Windows Mail).
   
   Note: If Windows Mail does not appear, click Start > All Programs > Windows Mail.
   
2. Click Tools > Accounts.
   
3. Select the email account to be deleted. Click Remove.
   
4. Click OK.
